Ideal Candidate

We have a need for a State and Local Tax (SALT) Associate in the San Francisco office.

• The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a keen interest in joining a preeminent appellate-style tax controversy practice where they will primarily function as a litigator exercising 2 - 4 years of experience handling the following:
  • researching multistate tax issues primarily in the income and franchise tax areas
  • preparing legal memoranda
  • drafting petitions, discovery requests and responses
  • assisting in the preparation of motions and briefs
  • tax planning and consulting with clients regarding issues such as corporate franchise and income taxes, sales and use taxes, real and personal property taxes, and telecommunications and electronic commerce taxes
• Strong interest in multi-state litigation is essential.
• Outstanding research and analytical skills are imperative.
• Excellent communication skills are key: concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in oral and written form.
• A strong work ethic, excellent leadership skills, and action-oriented interest in taking on increased levels of responsibility for client matters will add to your success on our team.
• Strong academic credentials in law school coursework are essential.
• Bar Admission in California is preferred.
