Junior associate with 1-3 years experience (private firm or government agency) practicing U.S. privacy and data security law (federal and state) to join the Firm’s Privacy & Data Security Practice and assume significant responsibilities in the firm’s Washington, DC office.

The nature of the work involves representing clients responding to government investigations (including FTC, State AG, and Congressional investigations), assisting clients with compliance with FTC orders, assisting clients conducting internal privacy or data security audits and investigations, and counseling clients on business practices and compliance with existing and emerging privacy and data security laws and regulations. Additional responsibilities may include drafting advocacy papers on emerging privacy and data security issues, counseling clients testifying before Congress, and assisting with and managing small to large scale document productions. Experience with technology industries, issues lying at the intersection of government regulation and technology, or FTC policy and enforcement regarding privacy and data security issues is desirable. Familiarity with computer programming, network technologies, database design, and web technologies is strongly preferred. CIPP certification is a plus. Superior academic credentials and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
