Senior E-Discovery Associate at Anonymous (via Michael Page) (New York, NY)

Overview:

  • Day-to-day management of large document reviews.
  • Lead the early case assessment phase of Litigation matters with an eye toward developing appropriate and defensible search terms and identifying potential document review issues at an early stage.
  • Draft workflows for matters, outlining roles and responsibilities for first level, second level, and production review.
  • Work with vendors to implement workflows at technological level.
  • Create project timelines for large matters and milestone reports showing progress against those timelines.
  • Work to create budgets for the discovery components of large matters, and monitor progress against those budgets.
  • Oversee vendor contract attorney teams, including monitoring review rates, setting up schedules for outside counsel feedback, and lead process to troubleshoot review issues.
  • Draft quality control procedures for large matters; outlining responsibilities of vendor.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise between senior e-discovery counsel and cyber-forensic team regarding collection of data.
  • Become subject matter expert on custodians and content of data, for purpose of advising outside counsel and managed review vendor as to review strategy.
  • Observe team activity, audit billing records, and solicit feedback from reviews regarding matter.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is created and stored regarding review processes.
  • Where required, conduct early case assessment review or small review projects for fact development purposes.
  • Strategize as to strategy for review of documents received from opposing parties or third parties.
  • Create reports to provide metrics on size and progress of document review.
  • Work with Litigation Attorneys to implement improvements in document review process, including technology assisted review

The successful applicant:

  • JD required
  • Member of the New York Bar
  • 4+ years litigation experience, including at least 3 years at large law firm (Amlaw 100 preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience implementing complex workflow in document reviews.
  • Advanced knowledge of litigation processes, and rules pertaining to electronically stored information
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices for management of discovery projects
  • Advanced knowledge of e-discovery available technology for review, including but not limited to technology assisted-review
