The Los Angeles office of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a highly qualified associate with 3 years of relevant experience to join our high-profile Trademark and Copyright practice group. Interested in full time candidates, as well as those looking for flexible hours.

The Trademark and Copyright practice group represents clients in a wide range of industries, including entertainment, fashion, and other consumer product areas in all aspects of trademark and copyright practice including clearance, trademark prosecution, licensing, inter parties proceedings before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, litigation in U.S. Federal District Courts, copyright registration, and ICANN Domain Dispute proceedings.

Requirements:

• Significant experience and in-depth knowledge of trademark clearance, prosecution, complex office actions, and counseling
• Familiar with TTAB proceedings and trademark/copyright litigation
• Solid litigation skills, such as handling discovery, drafting pleadings, briefs, and motions (essential for full-time candidates)
• Transactional experience welcomed
• Outstanding academic credentials
• Excellent writing, research and communication skills
• Able to work well in a team
• California Bar Membership in good standing
