MID-SENIOR LEVEL ASSOCIATE at Jackson Lewis (Reston, VA)

We are seeking a Mid-Senior Level Associate for Corporate Diversity Counseling Group for the DC Region (Reston, VA) office.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct employee interviews and analyze workplace policies and practices to identify areas of potential legal vulnerability

• Conduct internal investigations of discrimination and harassment claims

• Conduct internal “benchmarking” and “best practices” audits, and develop diversity enhancement action plans

• Assist client response to audits, investigations, mediations, conciliations by EEOC, OFCCP, and equivalent state and local agencies

• Advise and train employers on a wide range of employment laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination laws

• Develop diversity-related outreach and communications strategies

• Assist in diversity-related government relations strategies

• Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, and at mediations, in a broad range of employment matters, including discrimination and harassment


Skills and Educational Requirements:

• JD from Accredited Law School

• 3 - 6 years of relevant experience

• Significant experience in workplace law and employment litigation defending discrimination charges and lawsuits required

• Experience with employment class actions a plus

• Understanding of current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques

• Excellent attention to detail

• Government experience a plus

• Strong organizational and project management skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Virginia Bar Admission; D.C./Maryland Bars a plus

• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
