Our Salt Lake City office is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment lawyer for a staff counsel position of 30-40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in: (1) advising and guiding HR professionals and business leaders about employment law issues including discrimination/harassment/retaliation, ADA/FMLA, wage and hour, and wrongful termination; (2) drafting contracts addressing employment terms, non-disclosure/non-solicitation/non-competition, and employment separation; (3) developing and reviewing written HR policies, procedures, templates and training materials; (4) conducting compliance reviews; (5) delivering legal training on various topics; (6) handling demand letters and agency charges, (7) conducting workplace investigations; and (8) litigating employment matters before federal and state agencies and courts. The candidate also will have: (1) the ability to assimilate, analyze and concisely summarize factual information and case law; (2) a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, deadlines, priorities and workflow; (3) exceptionally high attention to detail and strong organizational skills; (4) a commitment to excellence and high standards; (5) excellent oral and written skills; (6) excellent client service and interpersonal skills; and (7) the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Distinguished academic credentials and Bar membership in good standing are a must. Large company in-house legal or HR experience preferred.
