Lewis Roca Rothgerber's Denver office is seeking a senior associate or a junior partner-level Oil and Gas attorney, preferably with a book of business.
The ideal candidate should have significant experience representing landowners, or relevant experience representing corporations and independent producers of every kind in dealings with landowners, with the full range of their legal needs in the exploration and development of crude oil and natural gas, working across a wide range of issues impacting the industry including counseling clients in connection with leasing property for oil and gas development, oil and gas royalty payments, preparing agreements in relation to exploration and production activities, and the acquisition and disposition of oil and gas properties. To create critical strategic advantages for our clients, the ideal candidate will also have significant knowledge of and experience with the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) and Colorado statutes, regulations, guidelines, and policies related to oil and gas operations. Additionally, a strong background and knowledge of all aspects of title due diligence, title examinations, and title opinions, including those related to drilling, production, acquisitions, finance, and the sale and purchase of real property is necessary. Candidate licensed to practice in Colorado, Wyoming or western states is a plus.
